Petra Aaron is an experienced litigator with substantial jury trial experience. Prior to joining GDH Law LLC, she worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney for almost 13 yeas, in the Office of the State’s Attorney for Maryland, Baltimore City prosecuting some of Baltimore’s most heinous crimes. Her most recent assignment was in the Special Victims Unit where she prosecuted Child Abuse cases, Elder Abuse cases, Sex Crime cases and Child Homicides. Throughout her career as an Assistant State’s Attorney, she prided herself on being a victims’ advocate, serving the citizens of Baltimore City by being a fierce, respected trial attorney with an unflappable demeanor. When a trial was not in the victims’ and the State’s best interests, she was able to successfully negotiate many plea agreements. Prior to joining the Office of the State’s Attorney, Ms. Aaron clerked for The Honorable Wanda Keyes Heard and The Sylvester B. Cox in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. In these roles, she gained experience in both civil and criminal actions. Ms. Aaron has passed her trial experience onto others by serving as a mock trial team coach for Washington Adventist University for three years. Before joining the practice of law, Ms. Aaron enjoyed a career as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. She worked in various hospitals as a generalist with a specialty in Hematology. This technical and data-driven background has provided her a good foundation in many areas of the law. Ms. Aaron has a passion for service and will remain on the lifelong quest to ensure that justice is fairly meted out. One of the ways she does this is by volunteering as a co-chair for The Minority Caucus of The Maryland Association for Justice, Inc. In this role, Ms. Aaron seeks to lift up the voices of under-represented attorneys in the state of Maryland. She is also a proud member of the American Association for Justice, Inc. Ms. Aaron is now a proud resident of Howard County. She is a former competitive gymnast with the Acro Airs team of Washington Adventist University who still has a strong interest in the sport. Most importantly, she has a passion for helping those in need, leading her to a role at GDH Law LLC, advocating for her clients’ rights.
