Ray earned his Juris Doctorate from the Villanova University and received his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Northern Arizona University.

Outside of his professional career, he actively served on the Board of Directors of the Brandywine Youth Club and volunteered as a coach in several youth basketball sports programs in southeastern Pennsylvania. He enjoys sailing with his wife and kids on the Chesapeake Bay and is an ardent supporter and fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Sixers.
