Richard A. Josepher

Past Chairman of the Tax Section of The Florida Bar (2002-2003), and recipient of the Gerald T. Hart Outstanding Florida Tax Lawyer Award (2009-2010). He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers and Partners USA, Florida Trend Magazine - South Florida Legal Guide, and Florida Super Lawyers. He is a charter member of the South Florida Tax Litigation Association, and has served on numerous committees of the Florida Bar's tax section. He was instrumental in the enactment of legislation in Florida concerning limited liability companies. He has served as adjunct professor in partnership taxation at the University of Miami School of Law Graduate Tax program. He has represented clients in federal tax matters at all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service. He has litigated federal tax matters in the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, and in the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has litigated probate and other matters in Florida circuit (trial) courts as well as in Florida's appellate courts. He speaks and writes on various tax related topics, including partnership taxation, entity selection, tax and estate planning and IRS procedures.
