Robert C. Kotz

Robert C. Kotz is a founding member of Kotz Sangster, practicing out of the Detroit office. He is a graduate of the University of Detroit School of Law and Michigan State University (B.A., with honors). His practice areas include general corporate and business law, including corporate planning, formation of corporations, partnerships and joint ventures; mergers and acquisitions; contracts; shareholder agreements; commercial law; financing law; international law; licensing law, including transfer of technology; construction law and real estate law.

Mr. Kotz's career has focused on advising closely-held entrepreneurial companies concentrating primarily on merger and acquisition work, general business and tax law and developing business strategies in the closely held and entrepreneurial client environment.

A significant portion of Mr. Kotz's practice has dealt with advising growth driven businesses in various industries, primarily in the aerospace industry, automotive suppliers, distribution companies, and general manufacturing companies. As part of his involvement with these companies, Mr. Kotz has served on and advises the Boards of these companies in business strategies, corporate governance, succession planning, strategic planning and general compliance issues.
