Robert Doan primarily devotes his practice to businesses, land owners and professionals in the construction and real estate industry. He is board-certified as an expert in construction law by The Florida Bar. He attended the University of Florida on a Florida Academic Scholars scholarship, where he participated in the undergraduate honors program and was selected for membership in Florida Blue Key. He remained in Gainesville after earning his bachelor’s degree and attended the University of Florida Law School. Upon graduation, Mr. Doan accepted an associate attorney position in the construction litigation department of the West Palm Beach law firm of Boose, Casey, Ciklin, Lubitz, Martens, McBane & O’Connell, beginning his career as a construction and real estate attorney.
Mr. Doan handles cases in all counties of Florida. In addition to representing clients, Mr. Doan frequently teaches continuing education courses to the construction industry and real estate professionals, and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Florida College of Building Construction and the College of Law. He is currently the secretary of The Florida Bar Construction Law Committee and serves on the Legislative Subcommittee for Construction Law. Mr. Doan has served as a peer reviewer for The Florida Bar’s Construction Law Institute since 2010 and was a presenter in 2012. Mr. Doan was listed in the Wall Street Journal and Miami Herald in 2012 in the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in construction and surety law.
Mr. Doan left his practice as a shareholder of Silverman, Vorhis & Doan in Gainesville in 2013 to relocate to Volusia County to be closer to family. He served for more than two years in the Volusia County Attorney’s office, primarily handling economic development, real estate and as counsel to the Daytona Beach International Airport. Mr. Doan joined Cobb Cole in 2016. In his free time, Mr. Doan enjoys family beach trips, golf, camping, fishing and many other outdoor activities.
