She also understands the importance of citizen involvement and makes herself available with an open mind to questions and concerns. Having lived in Wenatchee for the last 33 years, Ruth’s priority on the Wenatchee City Council is to maintain financial security and safeguard the small town values of this community, as we look towards the future. Population growth has brought challenges to the City of Wenatchee. Ruth is prioritizing housing development and has been working diligently with community stakeholders to incentivize housing development and to find solutions for better land use. In 2018, Ruth began her own solo law practice Esparza Law, PLLC. Ruth's practice is with civil litigation including family, immigration, property rights, wills and probate. Ruth is also a Guardian Ad Litem for the State of Washington.
