Stephan H. Trihey

Stephan H. Trihey’s practice is focused on commercial and civil litigation, insurance and construction law, commercial real estate, shareholder remedies and estate litigation. He brings over 20 years of experience as a trial lawyer, as counsel for domestic and international corporations, as well as insurers, and as an public sector advocate, having represented universities and Crown corporations.

He routinely advises clients on complex and contentious issues, with the goal of either finding a practical, cost effective business resolution, or to actively represent them before all levels of court, including the appellant court and arbitral tribunals.

Recognized for his advocacy skills, Stephan is often retained as co-counsel by his peers in these types of urgent and complicated matters. He has significant experience in international law involving the recognition of foreign judgments and ratification of arbitral awards and is skilled at managing large files that require coordination of cross-disciplinary expert teams and lawyers in different jurisdictions.

Stephan’s track record of success includes more than 100 reported decisions in cases involving transactional and commercial disputes, construction and insurance claims, shareholder and estate conflicts, injunctions and other extraordinary remedies. He has also participated in several dispute resolution procedures, including mediations and judicial conference resolutions.
