Stephen B. Lang

Steve’s practice is primarily in the areas of civil litigation including commercial, transportation, premises and product liability matters. He joined Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney in 1977, and has been in practice since 1974. He appears regularly in Rhode Island State and Federal courts in this district.

teve graduated from Bowdoin College in 1970 and received his J.D. degree from Syracuse Law School in 1973. He is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and Defense Counsel of Rhode Island (DCRI), of which he is a former board member and President. He is admitted to practice in all courts in Rhode Island, the United States District Court for Rhode Island, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a Court-approved Arbitrator for the Superior Court in the State of Rhode Island and has also served as a mediator for the Superior Court since 1996.

He lives with his family in Barrington, Rhode Island where he has been involved in local activities including board memberships, youth groups and the Town Committee on Appropriations
