Steven R. Cohen

Steven R. Cohen is a name partner and shareholder at Selikoff & Cohen PA, where he represents individuals and unions in labor and employment matters. He is based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

For more than 45 years, Steven has represented unions and union members before the New Jersey Supreme Court and other state trial and appellate courts, the Public Employment Relations Commission, the Office of Administrative Law, the State Board of Education, and other state agencies. His practice includes Employment Law for Individuals and Labor Law for Union clients, with matters involving workplace discrimination and accommodation claims, collective bargaining and union contract negotiations, tenure rights, unfair labor practices, union representation petitions, tenure charges, and other disciplinary proceedings, including TEACHNJ and teacher tenure cases.

Steven previously served as Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section from 2009 to 2011 and is a former Master of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court. He currently serves on the Section’s Executive Committee and the Sidney H. Lehmann Award Committee, as well as the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Legislative Committee. Steven is also a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, holds a Martindale-Hubbell® AV rating, and has been listed in Super Lawyers®, Best Lawyers in America®, and Best Lawyers® in New Jersey.
