She represents Connecticut within the Uniform Law Commission (ULC), a national entity that advocates for statutory uniformity. Suzy currently serves on the Executive Committee of the ULC and has been elected Secretary for the 2025-2026 term. Her role extends to chairing the Study Committee on Deepfakes and participating in the Study Committee on Probate and Non-Probate Transfer Integration. Additionally, she is actively involved with the Conflicts of Laws in Trusts and Estates and the Updates to the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act drafting committees, and is on the ULC’s Joint Editorial Board on Uniform Trust and Estate Acts. Suzy is also a Fellow of the European Law Institute, where she contributes to the Access to Digital Assets Project as part of its Advisory Committee.

In previous roles, Suzy chaired several ULC drafting committees, including those on Electronic Estate Planning Documents, Electronic Wills, and the Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act. Her leadership extended to amendments of the Uniform Principal and Income Act (2008) and a study on Mental Health Advance Directives. She has participated in drafting committees for various other projects, such as Uniform Health Care Decisions and the Regulation of Virtual Currency Businesses. Furthermore, Suzy served a two-year tenure on the ULC’s Scope and Program Committee and was honored as a life member in 2025.

Suzy has taught Estate Planning and Taxation at the University of Connecticut Law School. She is a past chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Estates and Probate and Elder Law Sections. Her professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC), where she serves on its Board of Regents. Suzy is an active participant on ACTEC’s Program, Digital Property, and State Laws Committees and acts as the ACTEC Liaison to the Uniform Law Commission. She has also dedicated her time to community service by being on the Board of Directors for organizations like PLAN of Connecticut, Inc., which provides affordable trust services to disabled families. Additionally, she contributed to the Connecticut Law Revision Commission’s Probate Advisory Committee until its dissolution.
