Terrell Blakesleay

Terrell Blakesleay is a senior managing associate in Dentons Sirote's Birmingham, Alabama office. He is a member of the Litigation practice group, where he handles a broad range of general business and commercial litigation matters for clients across various industries. His extensive experience includes managing contractual, insurance, construction defect, premises liability, and product liability cases in both state and federal courts throughout Alabama, achieving favorable results for both Fortune 500 companies and privately held businesses. Terrell is well-versed in arbitration, negotiation, mediation, and settlement techniques, and is equipped to address the most complex commercial litigation needs, whether for public companies, private businesses, or individual entrepreneurs. He defends against claimed business torts, anticipating business disputes to mitigate risks and costs, and represents clients in employment-related litigation, including class actions, EEOC pattern and practice suits, discrimination charges, and other high-profile matters. Additionally, Terrell handles trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation, offering comprehensive legal support for these intricate issues.

Terrell received his JD from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law, where he was a member of the Cumberland's nationally-ranked Trial Team and earned recognition as a finalist and semi-finalist in two national competitions. Additionally, Terrell served as chair of the Black Law Student Association's Thurgood Marshall Symposium, a mentor for Cumberland's Academic Support Program, a member of the Career Development Office's Student Board, and treasurer for the Cumberland Public Interest and Community Service Society. Prior to attending Cumberland, Terrell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, from Berry College and also played football at Berry.
