Biography
About Travis Austin Prince
Travis Prince focuses his practice on catastrophic personal injury, civil rights violations, asbestos litigation, and medical malpractice cases, including but not limited to wrongful death, misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, stroke, heart attack, and joint replacement. Travis brings a blue-collar work ethic to his law practice, as he understands the value – and necessity – of a hard day’s work. This work ethic, and a passion for helping people who have been injured through no fault of their own, are what motivate Travis to seek the best results for his clients.
Named in 2021 as one of Best Lawyers’ Ones to Watch and a Super Lawyers Rising Star, Travis has successfully taken cases to verdict and on appeal in West Virginia and his approach to litigation is greatly informed by his experiences at trial, allowing him to effectively evaluate early settlements, navigate complex litigation, and represent clients at trial – experiences that cover the full range of possibilities for your case.
Travis handles cases including:
Medical malpractice cases including, but not limited to, wrongful death, misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, stroke, heart attack, and joint replacement
Asbestos litigation cases on behalf of men and women who have contracted asbestos-related diseases including Mesothelioma, Lung Cancer, Esophageal Cancer and Asbestosis
Violations of civil rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution
Trucking accidents
Defective firearms and crossbows
Travis is motivated by a desire to provide families with answers to questions about why an incident occurred and a resolute belief that there is no justice without accountability. He has dedicated his career to holding accountable those responsible for causing harm so justice can be served, and families can find closure.
In November 2021, Travis helped secure a West Virginia Supreme Court ruling that reversed and remanded a lower court motion to dismiss medical negligence claims regarding a mentally ill patient that died by suicide, an effort that clarified and cemented the rights of mental health patients in West Virginia. A staunch protector of the rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution, he is known for his work seeking to hold police officers and municipalities accountable when they violate these sacred rights.
Travis’ clients know he is one of them. He’s hiked their hills, fished their streams, and played their favorite bluegrass on his banjo. A son of southern West Virginia, he routinely brings to bear his life lessons and experiences from his time in Appalachia to his personal injury law practice.
In addition to being a Bailey Glasser partner, Travis is an avid fly fisherman and a proud volunteer with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc., an organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities.
