Ms. Burns has extensive experience in every phase of litigation, having managed hundreds of cases from intake through trial. She is particularly adept at client counseling, depositions, discovery, and pre- and post-trial motions, as well as handling all phases of trial.

In court, Ms. Burns has successfully first and second-chaired numerous jury trials to verdicts and settlements. Her strategic workup of cases and tenacity in the courtroom has result in significant recovery for clients, including multimillion dollar settlements and jury verdicts.

Professional Legal Accomplishments

Ms. Burns’ accomplishments are not only well documented through verdicts, settlements, and press clipping, but also through the awards and accolades she has received from her peers and community. From 2017-2020, Ms. Burns was selected as a “Top 40 Under 40” Trial Lawyer nationally by the National Trial Lawyers Association and from 2016-2019, she was named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. She has been a speaker at several national trial attorney conferences including the Plaintiffs Asbestos Litigation Conference.

She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where Ms. Burns was an active member of the mock trial team, competing in several national mock trial competitions. She received her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University. She is a member of the California State Bar, as well as U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Central Districts of California.

Her hobbies and interests include cooking, snowboarding, and swimming.
