W. Henry M. Jones

Henry Jones is a trial lawyer with CowanGates. His practice focuses on civil trial work, with an emphasis on personal injury law.

Henry practices in all trial courts of the Commonwealth, and has successfully acted as both lead and co-counsel for jury trials in Circuit Court and bench trials in General District Court. Henry has argued before and drafted briefs to the Virginia Supreme Court. He was recognized in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and personal injury litigation – Plaintiffs. Henry enjoys the different challenges each individual case presents and helping solve his clients’ problems in the most cost effective way.

In his personal injury practice, Henry has experience with matters involving: automobile accidents, truck and tractor trailer accidents, slip-and-fall premise liability, intentional torts (assault and battery), dog bites, Transportation Network Companies (Uber), medical malpractice, hunting accidents, pedestrian accidents, and wrongful death. Regardless of the case, Henry’s goal is always the same, to recover full and fair compensation for his client’s injuries. In addition to his personal injury practice, Henry also handles matters involving business litigation/torts, contract litigation, real estate litigation, and eminent domain.Henry is originally from Ahoskie, a small town in northeastern North Carolina. Henry learned the value of hard work during his summers in Ahoskie where he worked in forestry and farming forMichael D. Neal and Associates as the business’s youngest employee. Henry’s father and sister are both attorneys in North Carolina.

Henry lives in Henrico with his wife, Rebecca, their son, Hugh, and black lab, Leigh. In his free time, Henry enjoys deer, duck, and turkey hunting.
