About Walter Alan Davis

A member of the Mississippi bar since 1994, Mr. Davis is admitted to practice before all Mississippi State and Federal Courts, as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He has received the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Mid-South "Super Lawyer," for multiple continuous years.

Mr. Davis serves as a board member of the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions and has done so since 2015, including the regular preparation and grading of the Mississippi Bar Examination. He is also is a member of American MENSA and the American Inns of Court, William C. Keady Chapter.

Working to support himself through both college and law school, Mr. Davis joined multiple academic fraternities. While in Law School, he served on the Editorial Board of the Mississippi Law Journal, as well as working with the inaugural public interest Housing Law Clinic. He served on the law school’s Honor Council, charged with investigating and prosecuting student academic misconduct. He co-authored, with John Graham Holaday, Obtaining A Patient's Informed Consent to Treatment: Informed Consent Under Mississippi Law, 63 Miss. L.J. 773 (Spring 1994). He served as an intern with the Office of the United States Attorney, Northern District of Mississippi.

After graduating from law school with honors and passing the bar, he worked as a judicial law clerk for U.S. District Judge Glen H. Davidson, Northern District of Mississippi, where he had substantial experience with federal court trials and worked with many attorneys appearing before the Court. Thereafter, he devoted his legal practice to litigation. His work experience includes civil litigation and substantial trial experience in state and federal courts, as well as appellate practice and in arbitration and mediation. He has appeared before Judges and Chancellors all across Mississippi and many of the cases he has worked on have been the subject of published judicial opinions. In addition to work as an advocate for his clients, he also serves as a Mediator.

In the community, Mr. Davis is a longstanding board member of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council, works with Lafayette County, Mississippi disaster management officials as counsel for the Lafayette-Oxford Long Range Recovery Committee, and serves as an adult leader, shooting sports instructor and Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 4 of the Chicksa District of the Natchez Trace Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a graduate of the Leadership Lafayette program and has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lafayette Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow ("LOFT"), a community foundation and affiliate of the Tupelo, Mississippi based CREATE Foundation.
