William J. "Bill" Thompson

Bill Thompson is a trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience who specializes in personal injury and medical negligence cases. He has represented victims in hundreds of cases throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Attorney Thompson also handles product liability and wrongful death claims and has vast experience before judges and juries in all types of personal injury cases.

He has been successful in obtaining numerous multi-million dollar awards for victims of medical and other negligence, including the largest medical malpractice verdict of 2011, an $11.48 million jury verdict in August 2011 for the death of an 8-day-old twin, and an $8.5 million jury verdict in December 2011 for the family of a bicyclist run over and killed by a tractor trailer. He also has won the largest jury verdict in Massachusetts for a stillborn baby ($2.7 million). His jury verdicts have ranked in the top 10 highest jury verdicts in Massachusetts in 2001, 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2014 and include a $4.9 million verdict for the family of a man whose leg injury from a bus accident resulted in death, as well as a $3.5 million verdict for a woman whose breast reduction surgery resulted in the loss of both breasts.

Attorney Thompson is regularly called upon to speak to other lawyers at legal seminars. He has lectured in Massachusetts and nationally to a wide audience. He is admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts in four states (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine), as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
