About Yahne Y. Miorini
Yahne Miorini is the founder and principal of Miorini Law PLLC. She focuses her practice on domestic and international estate planning, probate, trust administration and related tax matters, elder law (guardianship, conservatorship, special needs, and long-term care) and Veterans' Benefits. Her practice emphasizes the human element and seeks to foster long term family stability and efficient governance as well as providing wealth preservation and tax planning.
She continues to be in demand to speak before legal, accounting, and business groups. She is involved with local professional organizations. She is past President of VAELA, the Virginia Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Ms. Miorini has served as the chair of the Elder Law Estate Section of the Fairfax Bar Association, past co-chair of the Wills, Trusts, and Estates Section of the Fairfax Bar Association and was named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2006 by the Fairfax Bar Association. She was the past treasurer of the McLean Estate Planning Council. Additionally, she is the President of the Comité Tricolor (non-profit organization dedicated to helping French Citizens in the Washington, DC metropolitan area). Ms. Miorini received an award from the French Government for her public services (Chevalier de l'Ordre national du mérite).
Ms. Miorini is licensed in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and New York. She has over 20 years of experience. She received a French J.D. from University of La Sorbonne, Paris, France, and an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from George Washington University Law School.
In her spare time, she organizes dinners for a French Association (Washington Accueil Association), travels, and enjoys being with her husband, two children and cat.
Estate Planning
Her practice on domestic and international estate planning includes Wills, Revocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Advance Medical Directives, Living Wills, Special Needs Trusts, Pet Trusts, Life Insurance Trusts, and other irrevocable trusts. She counsels clients with multi-million dollar estates including non-US citizens with overseas assets. She also assists clients with real estate investments in France.
Probate and Trust Administration
Her practice on probate, trust administration and related tax matters, includes assisting executors and trustees or protecting the interest of beneficiaries of an estate. She represents beneficiaries living overseas and monitors international estate administrations. She assists trustees with the funding, administrating, and terminating of trusts including related tax matters (fiduciary income tax returns and estate tax returns).
Elder Law
Her practice on elder law includes guardianship, conservatorship, long-term care planning, Medicaid planning and Veterans' benefits.
