Yolanda Mendoza

Yolanda M. Mendoza, a fervent advocate for immigration law, embodies a profound commitment to public service. With her roots in the Dominican Republic and upbringing in Harlem, New York City, her diverse background provides a unique perspective to her work. Her journey in immigration law began at just 17, when she successfully aided a family member in the complex Request for Evidence process, facilitating their attainment of lawful permanent residency. This personal experience fueled her dedication to the field. While at Suffolk Law School, Ms. Mendoza distinguished herself as a student attorney by conducting bilingual legal intakes and "know your rights" presentations, as well as advocating for asylum seekers. In 2014, she contributed to a landmark case, persuading the First Circuit Court of Appeals to release a Jamaican national by challenging the grounds of deportation. Prior to law school, she honed her skills as an immigration paralegal and volunteered as a Spanish interpreter. A 2015 Suffolk Law graduate and Massachusetts Bar member, Ms. Mendoza’s practice is solely in Immigration and Naturalization law, serving clients nationwide. As a committed AILA member and committee participant, she continues to influence the field through her expertise and passion.
