Biography

About Zachary M. Wildsmith

I want the work I do to make a difference in people’s lives. I’ve handled different types of litigation, but I realized plaintiff’s work is the most rewarding. Getting justice for people who have been harmed by the irresponsible actions of large companies and corporations is where my heart is.”

Zachary M. Wildsmith is a member of Weitz & Luxenberg’s knowledgeable team of attorneys litigating mesothelioma and asbestos cases. His primary focus is talc products contaminated with asbestos.

W&L is delighted Mr. Wildsmith decided to join our team and work on behalf of people across the country who have been harmed by asbestos exposure. So far, we have achieved more than $8.5 billion in verdicts and settlements on our clients’ behalf.

Wanting to Right Wrongs

“When the opportunity came to join Weitz & Luxenberg, it was too good to pass up. I want to be impactful, and helping people harmed by asbestos exposure is incredibly rewarding,”says Mr. Wildsmith.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to right wrongs. There’s something innately satisfying about standing up to people who think they’ve gotten away with doing the wrong thing - something that has hurt someone else. Those people should be held accountable,”he insists.

Putting Clients at Ease at a Difficult Time

“When meeting with any clients for the first time, my goal is to put them at ease. Regardless of the exact circumstances of their case, they’re probably meeting me at one of the worst times in their lives,”explains Mr. Wildsmith.

“The legal process can be overwhelming. I aim to ease my clients’ fears and concerns, and answer their questions. I want to assure them that I’ll be with them every step of the way.”

Getting Justice for Clients and Sharing Good News

“Giving good news to clients is always rewarding. I’ve arranged a number of settlements and helped achieve positive jury verdicts as well.”says Mr. Wildsmith.

He continues, “Clients are typically pleased with how things have gone. But, mostly, they are incredibly relieved when the process is over and often express that they feel everything possible was done to secure a just outcome for them.”

Motivated to Hold Companies Responsible

“A huge motivator is holding careless companies responsible. Big insurance companies and corporations have no desire to pay out to anyone. They’re reluctant to acknowledge their accountability in asbestos exposure situations,”Mr. Wildsmith explains.

“These companies are perfectly happy to just run roughshod over the unsuspecting public. I ensure they don’t get away with hurting our clients any more than they already have. My focus is obtaining the financial compensation they deserve,”Mr. Wildsmith adds.

Asbestos-Contaminated Talc Alarmed Us All

Asbestos-Contaminated Talc Alarmed Us All

“What’s truly astonishing is how long talcum powder contaminated with asbestos was produced and sold by these companies. For decades, they went unchecked,”Mr. Wildsmith exclaims.

“These products were marketed to everyone. The companies that sold talcum powder even advertised it as safe for use on infants. That’s unbelievable.”

Mr. Wildsmith states, “For every one of our clients who was harmed by asbestos exposure, they deserve to be acknowledged with a just legal result.”

Previous Legal Experience

Prior to joining W&L, Mr. Wildsmith worked as a personal injury attorney, litigating hundreds of cases involving auto accidents, premises liability, and catastrophic injury. He has also served as in-house counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the country, giving him a strategic understanding of how large corporations evaluate and defend claims. Mr. Wildsmith has secured both settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his injured clients.

Right after earning his law degree, Mr. Wildsmith worked as a judicial law clerk for the presiding judge of the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden County. As a law clerk, Mr. Wildsmith supported the presiding judge in managing a high-volume docket, which included motion practice and trial preparation for cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, breach of contract, and fraud and consumer protection claims.
